Limits and security
LinkedIn can restrict an account that sends too many invitations or messages, or that acts at too regular a pace. So the platform applies limits per LinkedIn account, a send window and random delays.
This chapter gives these limits, explains how your data is kept separate from other customers' data, and describes the protections around the AI and around sending.
1. Why limits
Available
LinkedIn does not publish official thresholds. An account that goes beyond a normal volume, or that acts like a robot, can be restricted. The platform's limits are deliberately cautious.
They apply per LinkedIn account, not per workspace: LinkedIn restricts an account. If several campaigns use the same account, they share these limits.
When a limit is reached, nothing is lost. The action is postponed to the next day or to the next open slot.
2. Invitations
Available
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Invitations per day, classic LinkedIn account | 15 |
| Invitations per day, Premium or Sales Navigator account | 25 |
| Invitations per week | 100 |
| Pause after a refusal from LinkedIn | 12 hours |
Ramp-up. After an account is connected, the limit rises in steps:
| Time since the account was connected | Per day | Per week |
|---|---|---|
| 1st week | 5 | 25 |
| 2nd week | 10 | 50 |
| 3rd week | 15 | 75 |
| From the 4th week | Account limit (15 or 25) | 100 |
The limit applied is always the lower of the two: the ramp-up limit and the account type limit.
Invitation note. A note is at most 300 characters on a Premium or Sales Navigator account, 200 otherwise. A note that is too long is refused, never cut. On a classic account, invitations with a note are turned off by default: LinkedIn allows very few of them.
Refusal from LinkedIn. If LinkedIn refuses an invitation because of a limit, the platform suspends invitations of that kind (with a note or without a note) for 12 hours.
Pointless invitations. The platform does not invite a person who is already connected, a person out of the account's reach (3rd degree on a classic account) or a person who already has a pending invitation. These steps are skipped.
3. Messages
Available
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Messages and follow-ups per day and per account | 80 |
| Safety limit, including your replies typed by hand | 160 per day |
Above 80 messages in the day, campaigns and the assistant stop. A reply that you type yourself in the Inbox still goes through. At 160 messages, nothing more goes out, even by hand.
4. Profile and post reads
Available
| Limit | Classic account | Sales Navigator account |
|---|---|---|
| Profile reads per day, automatic (campaigns, Autopilot, crawl) | 100 | 100 |
| Profile reads per day, your manual actions | 100 | 200 |
Above 100 automatic reads, automation stops for the day. On a Sales Navigator account, your manual actions continue up to 200.
If LinkedIn refuses a profile read, no more reads go out with this account until the time shown on screen.
Post reads and LinkedIn calls depend on your plan. These two caps apply per LinkedIn account and per day:
| Limit | Essai | Essentiel | Croissance | Équipe |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LinkedIn calls per day | 200 | 200 | 400 | 600 |
| Post reads per day | 100 | 150 | 250 | 400 |
- A post read is any read of LinkedIn posts: a prospect's recent posts, the reactions and comments on a post, your own posts, the LinkedIn sources of a watch. A post search counts as one read.
- A post read also counts as a LinkedIn call. A profile read too.
- The first cap reached blocks the read until the next day. Nothing is charged for a refused read.
See Credits and subscription for the plans.
5. LinkedIn searches
Available
A search uses result lines, not credits.
| Limit | Classic account | Sales Navigator account |
|---|---|---|
| Search lines per day and per account | 1,000 | 2,500 |
| Maximum results for a single search (LinkedIn limit) | 1,000 | 2,500 (1,000 for companies) |
Background imports and the Autopilot stop at 80% of the day's budget. The remaining 20% is kept for your manual searches. See Prospects and Autopilot.
6. Pace, send window and random delays
Available
- Send window. A campaign acts only during its send window: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, Paris time, by default. You set it per campaign (see Campaigns). Drafts approved in the Inbox go out Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, Paris time.
- Changing the send window. The new window applies to upcoming actions. Actions already scheduled keep their time. After you save, the screen shows how many actions are already scheduled. Resuming a paused campaign does not move actions earlier either: prospects continue at the planned time. The "Tracking" tab shows the time of the next action.
- Apply the new send window now. After you widen the send window, the message offers this button when actions already scheduled can go out earlier. A confirmation window shows how many actions move, the first and last new time, and the count per step. Nothing is sent when you click: only the times change. Moved actions stay spaced apart and the LinkedIn account's daily limits still apply. No action is moved later. A gain of less than one hour at the opening is not applied, and an action whose text is already prepared or awaiting approval keeps its time.
- Random delay. Each action gets a random delay of 30 seconds to 3 minutes.
- Spreading when the window opens. Actions waiting when the window opens are spread over one hour at most.
- Gap between two actions of the same account. The platform spaces two successive actions of the same account by 30 seconds to 5 minutes, irregularly, which gives about 240 actions at most over an 8-hour day.
- Delay between two steps. You set it in the sequence. The assistant never puts less than one hour between two steps for the same person.
7. Where to see and set your limits
Available
- On a campaign screen, "Tracking" tab, "Today" sub-tab: the account budget (invitations, messages, profile reads remaining), the ramp-up and the pauses in progress.
- In "My profile", "Social networks" section, "Daily budgets" section: the account's invitation and message limits, and whether invitations with a note are allowed. "Adjust" lets you change them. "Auto" goes back to the default values.
Lowering the invitation limit is always applied. Raising it above 25 per day has no effect. The message limit can be lowered or raised: do it with care.
With the assistant
How many people can I reach today?
The assistant ("Command", "Campaigns" and "Search" tabs) reads your account's capacity for the day before it suggests a pace. It never announces a volume it has not read.
8. No action toward a person without your approval
Available
- A campaign starts only when you activate it. The assistant's "Campaigns" tab is not allowed to activate it.
- Each assistant action that reaches a person (activating a campaign from the "Command" tab, sending a reply from the "Inbox" tab) shows an "Approval required" card. Nothing goes out until you click "Approve". The assistant does not publish posts and does not send direct invitations.
- On the screens, each public or irreversible action (publishing a post, commenting, sending now, withdrawing an invitation) asks for confirmation.
- In "Approval required" mode, each campaign text waits for your approval.
- A person who replies leaves all the sequences that target them.
9. Prospect text and the AI
Available
Received messages, LinkedIn profiles and content read by Intelligence are written by other people. This text can contain hidden instructions aimed at an AI.
The platform never gives this raw text to the AI that acts. A first AI step, with no tools and no ability to act, reads the text and extracts a controlled summary from it: intent, tone, open questions. Only this summary is then used to draft a reply or decide on an action.
An action that sends something always targets a recipient the platform already knows. The recipient is never taken from a received text.
10. Separation of workspaces
Available
Each workspace has its own data: prospects, Targets, campaigns, conversations, credits. The database applies this separation on every read and every write. A member of one workspace cannot see the data of another workspace.
Your connected LinkedIn account is attached to your workspace. No screen and no assistant tool lets you choose another workspace's account.
11. The opt-out list
Available
A person who has opted out asked not to be contacted anymore. The platform:
- no longer sends them any message, on any channel;
- stops their campaigns in progress and excludes them from any new campaign;
- removes them from the prospect lists;
- allows a single reply to acknowledge their request.
The "Opt-outs" section of "Workspace settings" lists active opt-outs (who, since when, origin, reason, set by). It is visible to the workspace owners and administrators. Only they can lift an opt-out, at the person's request, with a required reason.
See Inbox to mark a person as opted out.
12. Two-step verification
Available
Two-step verification adds a one-time code to your password. The code comes from an authenticator app.
To turn it on:
- Open "My profile", "Security" section.
- Enter your "Password".
- Click "Enable 2FA".
- Add the key to your authenticator app.
- Keep the "Backup codes" in a safe place. Each one works only once.
- Enter the code shown by the app, then click "Confirm activation".
